NETWORKING: Membership in SAPPA places you in direct contact with many other purchasing professionals. This personal contact can be a tremendous asset as you build your personal network. “Buyers helping buyers” is the backbone of our professional association.

TRAINING: SAPPA sponsors local training seminars to sharpen your purchasing skills, as well as hosting NIGP national training events.

CERTIFICATION: Training events and membership can help you obtain the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), or the Certified Professional Purchasing Officer (CPPO) certifications from NIGP. These nationally recognized certifications are valuable professional credentials.

LEADERSHIP: SAPPA is always looking for qualified, and willing participants. Your skills would be useful in bringing professional opportunities to the San Antonio Purchasing community. Opportunities for leadership or team building are available.

ACTIVITIES: SAPPA founded the annual CPPB Conference. SAPPA has been an active participant in every CPPB Conference to date.

FUN: The quarterly membership meetings are informative, friendly and fun. Guest speakers bring exciting focus sessions to the general membership. The latest technologies and skills are showcased at buyer forums during the year.
