Registration is required. NOTE: Registration will not be accepted after May 29, 2012. Purpose: For those SAPPA members who need motivation and support in preparation of the CPPB or CPPO exam for October 2012. The meetings are designed to help keep each participant motivated to study and be prepared for the exam. Also, this is a great opportunity to network with fellow Procurement Professionals. Regular Meeting Date/Time: Tuesdays from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at starting May 29, 2012 thru August 14, 2012. Location: SAWS Customer Center Building, 2800 U.S. Highway 281 North, San Antonio, TX 78212, Tower II, First Floor, Conference Room 137 aka "The Fishbowl." Cost: No charge to join the group and participate in study sessions. Also group members are expected to dedicate time to the group meeting and group preparation. Supplies Needed: NIGP recommends that you either take all the classes or purchase the books referenced in the Body of Knowledge Domains. Also you will need a thumb drive. Anticipated flow of study group: Other than the first meeting, responses will need to be prepared in advance. Topics will be divided equally among members of the group and will be asked to prepare responses assigned topics. At the meeting, each week each member will go over responses to his/her assigned topics. Answers must be cited from the text where the response was retrieved. Responses should be prepared and brought to the meeting on a thumb drive. One member will be designated to keep the master file of the responses. Meetings should be anywhere from one to two hours long. Individual preparation time for the study group will vary but allow at least an hour to two hours. The group will also need a person to take the lead on communicating to group members and be the designated leader. Take-a-way at the end of the study group: At the last meeting each member will receive the final electronic copy of the master file. Each group member that participates in the study group will leave with a word document that each person will be able to use in his/her own independent study time for the exam. |
